INTRODUCTION

History and General presentation

CO.RI.S.T.A. (Consorzio di Ricerca su Sistemi di Telesensori Avanzati) is an Italian non-profit research consortium, located in Naples.

In 1988 it was founded with the aim of developing applied research activities in the field of remote sensing sensors and since its inception has been aimed at promoting a close cooperation between the universities and industries in the sector. Currently the consortium consists of two members: Thales Alenia Space Italia (80%) and the University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli" (20%).

In 30 years of activity, the CO.RI.S.T.A. has developed dozens of research projects in collaboration with national and international groups in response to calls for funding issued by public and private bodies worldwide. This experience has enabled the consortium to obtain a prominent position in applied research on remote sensing systems.

CO.RI.S.T.A. operates in strong connection with the main institutions and local companies such as:

  • The Distretto Aerospaziale Campano (DAC), of which he is a partner
  • The Institute for Electromagnetic Detection of the Environment (IREA) of the CNR, with which it signed framework agreements.

And it boasts collaborations with:
